When you have a deer in your sights take three deep breaths and pull trigger lightly on ur last breath when you are breathing out this will stop trigger jerking making your shot more accurate. Buy a spray bottle, fill it with peroxide. Whenever you are trailing a wounded animal and the blood trail gets dim or goes away, stop at the last drop of found blood and spray the solution over the area you think the animal was headed. Even the tiniest little drop of blood or saliva will boil so that it is easily seen. If you don't have any or run out or scent free laundry soap, use plain ole baking soda. For a quick scent free spray, mix 1/2 to 1oz scent free soap to a quart of so of distilled water. Don’t forget, spend lots of time scouting. Sight in your weapon and shoot it enough to be proficient and comfortable with it Some good bucks have been taken between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. Hunt later after everyone returns to camp. Sit still, deer spot movement easier and faster than color. Take a scent free shower. If it has been pouring rain and then slacks up, go hunting, the deer really move after a down pour. |
